The agreement you enter when you order a seal or a gift.

THE CONTRACT: When the contract is made depends on how you pay:Card, Apple Pay or PayPay — when the payment goes through at checkout.Konbini or bank transfer — when your payment arrives. An order not paid within three days lapses, and no contract is made.Invoice (companies) — when we accept the order and tell you so by email.A seal redeemed with a gift certificate — when the recipient approves the face and places the order.The face approved on the approval sheet — by you, or by each director for directors' seals — is the specification of what we make. Nothing is carved before it is approved.
PRICES: All prices are shown tax included and are fixed. We do not run sales, discounts or clearance pricing.
YOUR CHARACTERS AND DESIGN: You choose the characters and the design, and you are responsible for them: before you approve, check the name against the document the seal will be used with — for a registered seal, your residence record. We carve exactly the face you approve, character for character.
MADE TO ORDER: Each seal is composed to your name and carved to order. You can cancel for a full refund until it enters the carving queue, 24 hours after the order is confirmed; after that there are no returns or exchanges for a change of mind. A seal that arrives damaged, defective or different from the approved face is remade or refunded at our cost (see Shipping & cancellation).
DESIGNS MADE IN THE STUDIO: If you compose a design in the Studio, you must have the right to use it and any font you use in it. We may refuse a design that infringes someone else's rights or that reproduces a seal registered in another person's name; if we do, we cancel the order and refund it in full. A Studio design is carved exactly as you approve it and is not covered by the Guarantee.
GIFT CERTIFICATES: A gift certificate is valid for 12 months from purchase and cannot be exchanged for cash. The giver can cancel it for a full refund until the card is posted or the link is opened; after that it is not refundable. The metal is set at purchase; the recipient chooses the name, the design and the size, and these terms apply to their seal from the moment they approve it.
COMPANY ORDERS AND INVOICES: Companies can pay by invoice. We confirm every invoice order before anything is carved, and the order is made when we accept it. The invoice is issued when the order ships and is due within 30 days of issue, by bank transfer; transfer fees are the company's. A director's seal is carved once that director has approved its face.
GUARANTEE: Ten years on the face; accepted at the ward or re-carved. Claims go through the contact form. Seals from a design composed in the Studio are carved as approved and are not covered. See Guarantee.
IF WE CANNOT MAKE IT: If we cannot make a seal as approved — a face that cannot be cut, material we cannot obtain, or a design we must refuse — we tell you, cancel the order and refund everything you paid for it.
LIABILITY: Except in the case of our wilful misconduct or gross negligence, our liability for an order is limited to the price paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under Japanese consumer law.
LAW AND LANGUAGE: Japanese law applies; the Tokyo District Court has jurisdiction. The Japanese text of these terms prevails; the English is a courtesy.
